Mission San Jose Community

Bulletin for January 1999

Community Prayer Meetings: We meet every Sunday from 5 to 6:30pm at the Warm Springs Community Center

for our weekly gatherings of Prayer and Praise. These meetings are open to everyone, so please invite others to attend. Remember that information about MSJC and the California Mission Magazine is also available on the Web at HTTP://WWW.MSJC.ORG

Happy New Year!: 1999 is the third year in the preparation designated by Pope John Paul II to usher in the new millennium. It has been designated as the year of the Father. As explained in the California Mission, the basic theme of the year is the notion of coming to the Father in heaven through Jesus Christ.

"As Pope John Paul II explains: 'the whole of the Christian life is like a great pilgrimage to the house

of the Father.... In this third year the sense of being on a 'journey to the Father' should encourage

everyone to undertake, by holding fast to Christ the Redeemer, a journey of authentic conversion.'

(On Preparation fo the Jubilee of the Year 2000, nos 49, 50)"
