Community Prayer Meetings at Holy Family Parish in San Jose: Our weekly prayer and praise meetings will be every Sunday from 4 to 5:30pm at Holy Family Catholic Parish in San Jose (4848 Pearl Avenue) in the Community Center. As always, these prayer meetings are open to anyone who would like to join us in praising GOD and learning more about MSJC.

No prayer meeting on Sunday, Dec. 16th or Sunday Jan. 2nd due to Christmas Holiday: Due to Christmas and New Year's holidays, we will not have a prayer meeting on Dec. 16th and Jan. 2nd. Jesus is the reason for the season, share his love with those closest to you and not so close to you. We will be meetin on Sun. Jan. 9th in the Community Center to praise God for 2005!!

Children's Ministry volunteers: Please Read: The Diocese of San Jose has added another requirement for volunteers that work with children; a class given by the diocese is required for all volunteers. The different parishes in the San Jose Diocese will hold this class at different times and you can attend any one of them for this requirement. Please see Gary Herbst for the list of dates and locations for this class.

Children's Ministry: MSJC offers our children a time to learn about the Lord under our Children's Ministry for Toddlers

(ages 6 mos to 4 years) and School Age Children (5 yrs to 12 yrs). The toddlers will be in the Parish Nursery Room, while the School Age Children will be next door to them in the Conference Room. For info on this ministry, please pick up a Parent info sheet and Conduct Guidelines in the Children Ministry rooms. If you have any questions or comments, please call our Children's Ministry coordinator, Annie Esget. We use the Catholic Kids Net program for School Age children. MSJC has both parent volunteers and baby sitters for the Toddler Ministry - parents sign up as toddler assistants to help out baby sitters when needed. The School Age Ministry has parent volunteers. All Children Ministry volunteers must be fingerprinted due to a requirement of the Diocese of San Jose and a new requirement is that a diocesan class is also required. Please contact Colleen Murphy at Holy Family (408-265-3181) to set up an appointment to do that.

Prayers/Prayer Line Info: Anne Hashimoto is our volunteer for the Prayer Line Ministry. Please send her your prayer request by email . To be part of the Email Prayer Line, please tell her or send her your email address and she will add you to our Prayer Line email list.

MSJC Council Meetings: The MSJC Council meets the first Monday of every month to discuss MSJC activities and other business items. Please contact one of the council members for more information on meetings or location.

Supporting MSJC: Mission San Jose Community has tax-exempt status with both the Federal and State governments. You can help support MSJC with your tax-deductible contributions which can be given to Chris or Susan Kingsley. A financial report is available to anyone who requests one from Chris Kingsley for review of the finances for MSJC.

As always, these prayer meetings are open to anyone who would like to join us in praising GOD and learning more about MSJC.

No Prayer meeting on Sunday, Sept. 19th due to Holy Family Festival: Due to the Holy Family Festival that runs all weekend on Sept. 17-19th, we won't have a prayer meeting that weekend. However, we encourage everyone to attend the festival, it has carnival rides, games for all ages, musical entertainment and great food. A great time for all can be had - you can even pray in the Church during the festival, ask Judy Bateman for more details on that.

MSJC Pizza Night: MSJC will be hosting a free pizza dinner after the prayer meeting on Sun. Sept. 26. This is an opportunity for fellowship and also for you to invite someone new. We will have signups to bring salad, soda and desserts on Sun. Sept. 12th.

MSJC Community meeting: There will be an MSJC community meeting on Saturday, Oct. 2nd at 6:30 pm. , location to be announced. This meeting is to discuss the needs and the future plans of Mission San Jose Community. All are welcome to come.

Bible Study to start in October: There will be a Bible Study on the Gospel of Luke starting in October. It will be a self-study bible study with discussion in the Men's and Women's Share groups. MSJC will be providing the bible study materials. The study will end in January. More details to come.

Men, there is an upcoming retreat for you. MSJC will not have their annual retreat this year, so we encourage you to attend the Holy Family retreats instead. The Holy Family Men's retreat is coming up soon, Friday, Oct. 15 - Sunday, Oct. 17th at the El Retiro Retreat House in the Los Altos Hills. It is a beautiful location and the retreat will be something to charge your spiritual batteries. Cost is $180 dollars and your spot can be reserved by paying $50 deposit in the Church office or call John Marks.
