Bulletin for JULY/AUGUST 2000

Community Prayer Meetings: We meet every Sunday from 5 to 6:30pm at the Warm Springs Community Center for our weekly gatherings of Prayer and Praise. These meetings are open to everyone, so please invite others to attend. Remember that information about MSJC and the California Mission Magazine is also available on the Web at HTTP://WWW.MSJC.ORG

August Summer Break: Reminder that July 30th will be our last Prayer Meeting before our Summer Break in the month of August. We will have MSJC activities during the month of August (see items below) but no Sunday Prayer Meetings. Prayer Meetings will resume on September 10th after the Labor Day Holiday.

Men's Breakfast and Women's Fellowship Meetings: There will be no Men's or Women's Breakfast meetings this month due to a fire at the Omega Restaurant. Keep the owners in your prayers. They hope to reopen sometime in July.

Pizza Nites: The next MSJC Pizza Nite is scheduled for Sunday, July 23rd. MSJC provides the pizza after the regular Sunday prayer meeting and requests that you sign-up to bring other needed items such as paper goods and sodas. Sign-up by July 16th or call Judy Bateman.

Children's Ministry: MSJC offers our children a time to learn about the Lord under our Children's Ministry for Toddlers and School Age Children. For info on this ministry you can call Susan Kingsley. Thank you to those who have volunteered for this important ministry to our MSJC children:

Family Camp: Spots are still available for Family Camp on August 20 - 24th at beautiful Redwood Christian Camp in Boulder Creek, just an hour away from the Bay Area. Check out their website at www.redwoodcp.org Balances due no later than August 15th payable to MSJC. Please give or mail checks to Judy Bateman.

MSJC Picnic: Plan for our annual MSJC Picnic to be held on Saturday, August 5th from 10am-8pm at Emma Prusch Farm in San Jose near 280 and King Road! Contact John and Elizabeth Martinez to sign up for food items.

MSJC Council Meetings: The MSJC Council meets the first Wednesday of every month to discuss MSJC activities and other business items. Please contact one of the council members for more information on meetings or location.

MSJC Community Meeting: The next MSJC Community Meeting is scheduled for September 30th from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the Milpitas Library community room.

MSJC Retreat: Mark your calendars for the MSJC Retreat to be held October 27-29th. The retreat will be at the Vallambrosa Retreat Center in Menlo Park. More details to follow in September.

Prayers/Prayer Line Info: If you have a prayer request that you would like to get on the Prayer Line, you may contact Slyvia Lobo.

Year-End Donations: Mission San Jose Community has tax-exempt status with both the Federal and State governments. Tax-deductible contributions can be given to Chris or Susan Kingsley. A quarterly financial report is available to anyone who requests one from Chris Kingsley.
