Mission San Jose Community - www.msjc.org
Bulletin for May 2004
Community Prayer Meetings at Holy Family Parish in San Jose: Our weekly prayer and praise meetings will be every Sunday from 4 to 5:30pm at Holy Family Catholic Parish in San Jose ( 4848 Pearl Avenue ) in the Community Center. As always, these prayer meetings are open to anyone who would like to join us in praising GOD and learning more about MSJC.
No Prayer Meeting on May 9th and 30th: There will be no prayer meeting on Mother's day, May 9th so everyone can enjoy the day with their families. Let us all pray for all mothers and mothers-to-be. No prayer meeting on May 30th either due to the Northern California Charismatic Catholic Convention.
Northern California Charismatic Catholic Convention: This convention is an annual event held on Memorial Day weekend, which is May 28 - 30 this year. The convention is a gathering of all Charismatic Catholics from all over Northern California, it is a powerful event and we encourage all to come for one day or for all 3 days. It will be at the Santa Clara Convention Center, across the street from Great America in Santa Clara. A new thing this year is that Friday's concert at 8 p.m. has been changed into a praise concert, more praise music for everyone to sing along. Pick up a registration flyer after prayer meeting. We won't be having our prayer meeting on Sunday May 30th in order that everyone can attend the closing Charismatic Mass at 3 pm. The Mass is free to all the public, no need to register for that. MSJC will be helping out at registration so if you are interested, please talk with Dan Franke.
MSJC Gifts of the Holy Spirit talk series continues in May and goes thru June : MSJC will be having a series of talks on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit starting in April during the Sunday prayer meetings. Here is the schedule of the talks:
Gift of Counsel - May 16th Gift of Fortitude - May 23rd Gift of Knowledge - June 6th
Gift of Piety - June 13th. Gift of The Fear of the Lord - June 27th
MSJC Pizza Night: MSJC will be hosting a free pizza dinner after the prayer meeting on Sun. May 23rd. This is an opportunity for fellowship and also for you to invite someone new. We will have signups to bring salad, soda and desserts on Sun. May 16th.
Holy Family Parking Lot Reconstruction this summer On June 27th and for the rest of July, there will be no on-site parking because of the church parking lot reconstruction. Parking will be available at Erikson school across the street or in the neighborhoods nearby. Please add 15 minutes to your time to get to the prayers meetings because of this parking situation.
MSJC Ministry Schedule: Below is the Ministry Schedule for the following weeks:
|
Children's Ministry: MSJC offers our children a time to learn about the Lord under our Children's Ministry for Toddlers
(ages 6 mos to 4 years) and School Age Children (5 yrs to 12 yrs). The toddlers will be in the Parish Nursery Room, while the School Age Children will be next door to them in the Conference Room. For info on this ministry, please pick up a Parent info sheet and Conduct Guidelines in the Children Ministry rooms. If you have any questions or comments, please call our new Children's Ministry coordinator, Annie Esget. We use the Catholic Kids Net program for School Age children. MSJC has both parent volunteers and baby sitters for the Toddler Ministry - parents sign up as toddler assistants to help out baby sitters when needed. The School Age Ministry has parent volunteers. All Children Ministry volunteers must be fingerprinted due to a requirement of the Diocese of San Jose. Please contact Colleen Murphy at Holy Family (408-265-3181) to set up an appointment to do that.
