Mission San Jose Community
Bulletin for February 2004
Community Prayer Meetings at Holy Family Parish in San Jose: Our weekly prayer and praise meetings will be every Sunday from 4 to 5:30pm at Holy Family Catholic Parish in San Jose ( 4848 Pearl Avenue ) in the Community Center. As always, these prayer meetings are open to anyone who would like to join us in praising GOD and learning more about MSJC. Check us out on the web at http://www.msjc.org
Life In the Spirit Seminar: MSJC will be having a Life In The Spirit Seminar and will be held in place of the prayer meetings on Feb. 22, 29, March 7, 14 starting at 4 p.m. in the Community Center at Holy Family Parish. We still need volunteers for intercessory prayer and for sponsoring candidates; please see Gary Herbst after the prayer meeting if you are interested.
MSJC Ministry Schedule: Below is the Ministry Schedule for the following weeks:
|
Children's Ministry: MSJC offers our children a time to learn about the Lord under our Children's Ministry for Toddlers
(ages 6 mos to 4 years) and School Age Children (5 yrs to 12 yrs). The toddlers will be in the Parish Nursery Room, while the School Age Children will be next door to them in the Conference Room. For info on this ministry, please pick up a Parent info sheet and Conduct Guidelines in the Children Ministry rooms. If you have any questions or comments, please call Susan Kingsley. We use the Catholic Kids Net program for School Age children. MSJC has both parent volunteers and baby sitters for the Toddler Ministry - parents sign up as toddler assistants to help out baby sitters when needed. The School Age Ministry has parent volunteers. All Children Ministry volunteers must be fingerprinted due to a requirement of the Diocese of San Jose. Please contact Colleen Murphy at Holy Family (408-265-3181) to set up an appointment to do that.
Share Groups: We encourage everyone who regularly attends the prayer meetings to be in a Men's or Women's Share Group in which time is spent discussing current MSJC teachings, Bible Studies and your personal spiritual faith journey, as well as intercessory prayers. Everything discussed during the meeting is confidential and is not to be shared with anyone - not even your spouse. Share groups are for those who make the commitment to attend the meetings from now until July 2004 and are not for those who can only drop in every once in a while. Share groups meet twice a month; the Women's Group is every 1st and 3rd Tuesday and the Men's Group is every 2nd and 4th Tuesday. Please contact Mary Herbst for San Jose Women's Share Group and Eric Bateman for San Jose Men's Share Group. The meeting day is flexible but has to be okay for everyone in the group. If there is enough interest, more share groups can be formed as 6-7 people is usually the maximum number for a single group. The groups usually meet from 8:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. at someone's home.
Mark your calendars: Community Meeting is on Saturday, March 27th 6:30 pm. - location TBA. Our annual Day of Recollection at the Shrine of St. Joseph the Guardian of the Redeemer in Santa Cruz will be Saturday, April 24th. Cost will be $10, which includes a talk by one of the priests at the shrine and lunch. Our annual Summer picnic will be at Emma Prusch Farm Park again on Saturday, August 28th from 10 am. - 5 pm.
